Kevin Young

Who Is He?

Kevin is a Traditional Acupuncturist and a State Registered and Chartered Physiotherapist. He is a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy, a member of the Society of Sports Therapists and is also a member of the British Acupuncture Council.

Kevin has been involved in sports both as a competitor (for 17 years) and sports physio (20 years) after retiring from competitive sports. He initially studied to become a Physical Therapist, subsequently gaining postgraduate diplomas in Physiotherapy and Joint Manipulations. He also has Diplomas in Sports therapy and Sports massage.

Kevin gained his BSc (Hons) in Traditional Chinese Medicine: Acupuncture in 2000 at the University of Westminster, and followed this up with postgraduate certificates in Chinese Patent Herbal Medicine and Tui-Na (Chinese Medical Massage). As part of his postgraduate work he studied with doctors in Chengdu, PR China. His interest in Chinese therapies and martial arts dates back to many years before that, and previously he trained in Northern Shaolin, and various styles of kung fu, tai-chi and qi-gong. In addition to running his two clinics Kevin teaches Anatomy, Structural Diagnosis and Tui-Na (Chinese Medical Massage) at the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine in Reading and run his own advanced courses in sports therapy for acupuncturists. At present he is studying for a MSc in Lower Limb Musculo-Skeletal Studies at UWIC Cardiff and aiming to graduate in 2011. Kevin also works for the Arthritic Association and sits on the BAcC PIC committee.

Kevin Young runs independent courses in Sports Injuries for Acupuncturists, Tui-Na (Chinese Massage) And Anatomy. He specialises in Acupuncture for Musclo-Skeletal, sports injuries and pain. He also has a special interest in Lower limb injuries and Orthopedic Medicine.
